"Conduct yourself with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Four basic rules:

  1. Be Respectful
  2. Be Responsible
  3. Be Accountable
  4. Be a Team Player

Plagiarism

  • Using text from another source (e.g., websites, books, journals, newspapers, etc.) without documenting the source.
  • Using a direct quotation from a text without quotation marks or formatting through indention or font style signifying that the portion of text is a quote, even if the source has been cited correctly.
  • Paraphrasing or summarizing the ideas or text of another work without documenting the source.
  • Substituting a word or phrase for the original while maintaining the original sentence structure or even the organizational structure of the original piece.
  • Citing sources incompletely with intention to deceive.
  • Using graphics, visual imagery, video or audio without permission of the author or acknowledgement of the source.
  • Obtaining packaged information (e.g., completed paper from an on-line source) and submitting it as one’s own work without acknowledging the source.

Cheating

  • Giving or receiving unauthorized assistance.
  • Using unauthorized materials, information or study aids in an examination.

               Interference

  • Interfering with the ability of another student in performing their assignment.

Classroom Level:

  • Classroom consequences for inappropriate behavior (e.g., warnings, think sheet, trying again, chance to fix the behavior (apologize, clean up mess, etc.), separation from group, detention, loss of privilege, etc. )
  • Communicate with parents (parental input/team approach)
  • Behavior contract for ongoing issues

Escalation Level

  • Administrator/Pastor speaks to student and states expectations for behavior
  • Think sheet completed by student and sent home to be signed by parent and returned
  • Office detention
  • Behavior contract
  • Call parent and review code of conduct with student and parent
  • Meeting with parent, teacher and student (if necessary)
  • Behavior support meeting with teacher, support staff, administration
  • Family referral for outside support (e.g., social work, psychology, pediatrician, community agencies)
  • Suspension
  • Possible decision for suspension or expulsion

• School Hours: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday

• Student Arrival and Departure:

o Students cannot be dropped off unless there is an authorized adult present to receive them. Students of staff should not arrive earlier than their parent.

o Parents/guardian need to be here at 3:00 pm to pick up their children. If they have another individual pick them up, the office must have a written permission slip from the parent stating so unless already specified on the registration paperwork.

o Please arrive on time for drop off and pick up.

We have a very simple dress code.

1. Students need to wear clothes that do not dishonor God with what is written or pictured on them.

2. Their outfits need to fully cover where their underwear should be at all times.

3. Be mindful of modesty in your decisions.

First, as teachers and staff, we are in prayer for our students and the way in which the school functions. We strive to be a role model that glorifies God in word and in deed. We endeavor to provide a safe atmosphere that is conducive to students’ learning by establishing clear expectations so that all understand what our rules and procedures are. We encourage critical thinking skills and are open to respectful suggestions by the students. Every child is “fearfully and wonderfully” made, and we recognize that learning styles and coping skills are not the same for all. If there are ever unresolved issues, we follow the Matthew 18 principle.

Any school closing or delays in starting will coincide with Pflugerville Independent School District. We follow their schedule.

Lunch is not provided by the Academy. The school has a refrigerator and microwaves for students’ use. Lunch will be 30 minutes long.

For special occasions, parents may bring goodies to the classroom to share. These goodies should be ready to serve and easy for teachers to distribute. Please coordinate with the teacher in advance. The class is encouraged to plan parties around the various holidays

"Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established." Proverbs 16:3

  1. Students need to be prepared for class and in their seats by 8:30 or they will be considered tardy for class
  2. Students will be expected to be in attendance for the entire day. Please inform the office if your child needs to be absent for any reason or if you will be late.
  3. Three times of being late will equal one absence
  4. Three absences due to being late to class will result in disciplinary actions

Students returning to school too soon after an illness related absence can perpetuate the cycle of contagious illness among our students. To protect students from communicable illnesses, students infected with certain diseases are not allowed to come to school while contagious. If a parent/guardian suspects that his or her child has a communicable or contagious disease, they should contact the school office so that other students who might have been exposed to the disease may be alerted according to Department of State Health Services. Students should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in protecting all of the students from communicable or contagious diseases.
